CINENOVA is the first and only Interuniversity Film Festival in Portugal. Organized and conceived by NOVA-FCSH students and professors, CINENOVA seeks to promote the dialogue around the relationship between Cinema and Knowledge through the screening of films (national and international) made in a university context.
It's aimed at all higher education students, regardless of their level or area of study, and is open to anyone who wants to learn about (and through) cinema.
Throughout the last five years of its existence, CINENOVA has preserved its mission through visual identities tied to the artistic movement of cinema itself. In 2019, we inaugurated the "Idea", which in 2020 was materialized in the "Screening Room" - "in Action", if we prefer -, naturally extended into the years of "Light" and "Lenses" of 2021 and 2022.
In 2024, we celebrate the multiplication and multiplicity of "Perspectives" that the camera allows as a technical (and surreal) object - eye - capable of capturing the different experiences of space and time. Registering the most intimate gestures of the objects, the camera idealized by CINENOVA also assumes a "vigilant" character over the national and international cinematographic panorama, mapping new talents, new angles of approach and new "Perspectives".
